Louis Rukeyser’s Wall Street – In April 2011, this publication highlighted the FAM Equity-Income Fund. “After riding a decade's worth of boom and bust cycles, investors are happy to trade the turbulence for stability. By making long-term investments in solid companies, this fund is a port in the storm for investors seeking income and capital appreciation.”
Fund selection was based upon the following criteria: Five categories – Growth, Growth and Income, Specialty, Taxable Income, Tax-Free Income; 3-year return rankings primarily considering funds that had managers in place for at least three years; and no-load funds were given priority over loaded funds if their performance was the same. Funds were not considered: with front-or back-end loads greater than three percent; that are closed to new investors; that had less than $25 million in assets or minimum investments of $10,000 or more; and with trust restrictions or single-state muni-bond funds.
